Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) by Dr. Gracia

“Droopy” eyelids are another sign of aging that some of us dislike. Not only can the sagging skin make us look older, but it can also affect our eye sight and a lot of the times appear tired or sad.

Cosmetic eyelid surgery, Blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the eyelids and gives a more youthful rejuvenated look. You may choose to have the upper, lower or both eyelids treated depending on your personal needs and wants. Eyelid surgery can specifically treat:

  • Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision
  • Excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the upper eyelids
  • Bags under the eyes
  • Droopiness of the lower eyelids, showing white below the iris (the colored portion of your eye)
  • Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid

Blepharoplasty can be performed in office with a local and sedation or in a surgical facility.

A few months ago, my mom went through a Toronto eyelid surgery in order to treat the bags under her eyes. Fortunately, she found an experienced and skilled doctor and so the results were fantastic. This procedure gave her a more youthful rejuvenated look. I’m so happy for my mother!
